Politics, Division, and You

I want to address the elephant in the room here.

Last week, some of you were overjoyed. And some of you were shocked and angry. Politics has always been a bloodsport but it seems that in America—and even in many countries around the world—people are more divided than ever.

One of the things I’ve leaned on since I started How I Built This back in 2016 is that when it comes to building something or pursuing an idea, most of us are on the same team. Entrepreneurship is about creativity. What we do is about solving problems.

HIBT is a celebration of entrepreneurship and the people who build and create things that impact our lives.

I am super lucky to have an incredibly diverse audience. My listeners—YOU—cut across all demographics and political perspectives. How do I know? Because I speak all across the country and I’ve met hardcore HIBT fans who are all over the political spectrum.
